Lake Kalibari” – One of the most famous religious seats of Bengal.
Lake Kalibari” – One of the most famous religious seats of Bengal, where the remembrance of God was kindled by Sree Sree Haripada Chakroborty, our revered Gurudev, was established more than 60 years ago. For his spiritual sadhana and ardent love for the almighty
mother – ‘Maa Kali’, suddenly the divine mothervbecame an effulgence and a Light of Divinity, luminous
like a thousand suns, and appeared in his thatched hut where mother Sree Sree 108 Karunamoyee Kalimata has
been consecrated. The mind of Gurudev blossomed and bathed in such hued light of Divinity and, at the directive of the divine mother, Gurudev constructed a
seat of five skulls (Panchamundi’s Ashan) for the performance of ‘Tantra Kriya’ to ensure the proper solace of mankind and, thus, dedicated his life to a vast Karmayagya.
In 1987, out of his innumerable disciples Gurudev ultimately picked Sri Nitai Chandra Basu as his competent torchbearer and trained him for the
advancement of his Karmayagya. Thus yesterday’s Karmayagya has been transformed into a present day
Dharmayagya: A vast project for the construction of a ‘Temple Complex’.
To prepare the infrastructure Sri Basu devoted his 15 years of service and source and now has been able to
obtain a temple plan and model prepared by a renowned temple Architect of India Padmashree Achyut Kanvinde, in consonance with Kolkata Municipal Corporation rules.
The temple will be constructed upon a land of 15 cottahs (10800 sq.ft.), at 107/1, Dr Meghnad Saha Sarani, Kolkata – 700 029, West Bengal, India. The
temple will be erected in a number of steps from the road, the height of the temple will be 42.5 feet from the
ground level and the view of the facade will be splendid.
Apart from temples for worship there will be an auditorium for discussions on religious, social and educational matters, as also for seminars and conferences.
A community hall for social and religious purposes; conference rooms for exchange of views and ideas on educational, social cultural and religious matters, guest rooms for stay, free medical advise and treatment
centers, ambulance services, free help-line services for common people in their need, have also been conceived.
Soon it will be a place of harmony for performing various archanas. Lake Kalibari was established by Sree Sree Haripada Chakroborty on 13th April, 1949 and during his lifetime he maintained the same temple and performed the Tantra Kriya for the solace of hundreds of thousands of people who approached him during their hour of need. Prior to his demise he appointed and nominated Sri Netai Chandra Basu as Executor cum sole Sebait by his last Will dated 11/12/1985 read with Codicil dated 14/06/1987 and since he is devoting his life for the benevolence of mankind at large who are assembling before him with grace of Divine Mother Karunamoyee Kailmata, popularly known as Lake Kalibari.

About Temple Construction

Our respected Gurudev, Sree Sree Haripada Chakraborty,
had a great inclination and encouragement to establish
a KaliTemple (Lake Kalibari). So, on the day of 13th
April, 1949, he established this temple at Southern
Avenue, Kolkata with an earthen image, though he was
not satisfied with that. He dreamt of permanent figure
of “Maa” and “Panchamundi Asana” instead. The
generous and ardent devotees shared his dream and
responsibility. After a decade of nonstop and relentless
effort, on the 13th day of April, 1959, the touchstone
image of “Maa” has started to be worshiped.
Sri Netai Chandra Basu, the most ardent and illustrious
disciple of Sree Sree Haripada Chakraborty, has taken
charge as sebait in the year 1987. We have a dream to
build up a Temple which is a platform of our unity.
Tough, yet achievable. We believe in worship with a
prayer for the mass, we thrive for the benefit of the
society as well as for the mankind. We are determined,
dedicated and disciplined lot under the encouragement and guidance of Sri Netai Chandra Basu. We seek wholehearted cooperation through donation either by materials or financial support. Please note that all our donation are exempted under 80G of Income Tax Act and for receiving foreign donation, our organization is registered under Foreign Contrbution (Regulation) Act 1976.

Present State of Affair
The renowned Lake Kalibari, at south Kolkata, is slowly
moving on its way to present a new concept of colorful,
ornamental and multistoried unique Temple. While
stepping forward towards this uphill task, we are facing
series of hurdles in the form of various constraints,
particularly for unavailability of necessary materials due
to dearth of fund. But we are moving with strong
determination and application keeping in mind that our
endeavor and moral spirit will be always boosted by the
direct and indirect co-operation from all corners. Now
we take this opportunity to apprise you the present
state of affair.
At the beginning of the project work the development
was appreciably faster. But in course of time during the
construction of the most critical part of the project, the
rate of progress was retarded for obvious reasons.
Most important part of the project is to synchronize the
modern conceptual technology followed by its regular
up-datation particularly in the field of civil, architecture
and electrical wings, to flourish its best application. This
consumes more time. While carving creative ornamental
figures, derived from the old historical records
particularly from CHANDI, GITA and UPANISHAD on
costly as well as rare available white marble and for
getting its beautiful display by focusing with Light
Emitting Diode lamps, the artist, architect and experts
faces numerous problem for its actual formation,
preservation and maintenance under several limits and
conditions with respect to administrative rules and
regulation.
When we perform any work religiously to achieve our
target, usually our determination and application leads
to derive best possible output regardless of any
condition and limitation.
The basic reason for delay of the work may be analyzed
under the following salient points:-
Non-availability of the proper material as per
specification from time to time.
Consumption of time for getting creative features after
lot of considerations and carving on the marble.
Inadequate flow of fund by way of donation in time to
maintain the continuity of the progress so derived and
getting its formation on the marble
Co-ordination among Engineers, Architects, Artists,
and model maker and lastly getting the best output
on the marble by the skilled labors from time to time
takes good length of time.
Creative nature of work is always very precise and its
development is not always visible in a large way,
although such kind of performance needs time for
thinking and its application. Building of temple is such
an opportunity that gives a scope to dedicate the
mankind a valuable lesson through combination of
profound knowledge, thoughts, creativity, dedication and
application with art and culture on and around the
temple with respect to its background. This rare
opportunity is direct blessing of God and hardly comes
through destiny in ones life to get involved directly in
multi-various ways to dedicate various aspects to the
new generation.
We therefore sincerely appeal to all of you to visit the
site at your convenience and join us to expedite the
progress by virtue of your active participation for it’s all
round success towards this noble cause.
Let us join hand to work together to build our holy
common platform “Lake Kalibari” with our best effort,
heartily and generously in order to present a glorious
historic milestone to the future generation of our nation
and pray to MAA Karunamoyee for its grand success
towards this mission as narrated in holy GITA.
Our Achievements
With the blessing of Sree Sree 108 Karunamoyee
Kalimata we were succeeded to install ornamental stone
Pillars round the Puja Mandap coupled with fencing
made with white stone Jali.
Secondly Dom top of the Puja Mandap which was
initially made with round concrete beams forming 84
triangular cavities to carry same size of respective solid
triangular white stone cover having its ornamental
creative curving inside, have been installed forming one
white stone umbrella with various motives blooming
both civil and architectural design as well as exhibit an
unique aesthetic view.
Now we have undertaken the fitment of various kinds of
ornamental white stone Jalis around the three Sikharas
from outside. This may be please be seen in the picture.
Building Material Presently Required for Contribution
The structural part of our new temple which had started
since 14th August 2002, is now almost in a stage/
position of completion as per approved plan. This was
possible due to generous extension of donation in terms
Materials and Fund by the devotees. Now at this
juncture to continue this construction uninterruptedly ,
we need to have the following materials urgently:
Makrana white Stone Blocks
Source: Makrana, Rajasthan, India
Required for: Ornamental & curves. Pillers round the
Puja Mandap and the Parikrama. Triangular parabolic in
shape and curving white blocks for filling the gaps
among the curved beam on the Puja mandap. White
blocks for Staircase Jali (Jafries) on the fancing and
around the three Sikharas
Size: The stone blocks used in building the temple are
of the following dimensions:
40 mm thick size : 6’-0” × 3’-6”
16 mm thick size : 6’-0” × 3’-6” | 7’-0” × 5’-0”

NOTE :
White Stone Blocks and Slabs are high cost items as
because in our climatic condition, the humidity is
always high. So we have decided to procure stones both
blocks and slabs from Makrana, Rajasthan, India, which
have got less water absorption due to its hardness. It is
said to be required around rupees six crores to meet our
purpose for undertaking such work, considering total
material (Stones) and allied items.

About GuruDev

“Tameva bhantam anubhati Sarvam,
Tasyabhasya Sarvamidam vibhati’
‘When He shines, everything Shines in His wake;
By his light, all thing shine”
– Kathopanishad
Gurudev – Sree Sree Haripada Chakroborty had an
ardent love for mother divine – ‘Kali’ since his
childhood. Being spiritual aspirant, in his younger days
he used to worship “Maa Kali” for the destruction of
spiritual ignorance which veils the reality within and
makes one feel limited to a Body and He ultimately
because of his ‘Sadhana’ through the path of Tantra
witnessed the manifestation of Divine Mother and at the
call of the Mother Supreme started to work for the
solace of the mankind by performing ‘Tantra Kriya’.
Gurudev to his wisdom had personally listened to
countless problems confided by Hundreds of thousands
people, showed his deep insight into the human
condition. He recognized their needs and descends to
the level of ordinary man both literate and illiterate class
and gave each one proper answer to the needs
“Trailokya sphuta vaktaro
dvadyasura pannagaha
Guruvaktra sthita vidya
gurubhaktya tu labhyatye”
The Guru’s wisdom cannot be learned From even gods
of the higher worlds; The Guru’s knowledge awakes in
him who serves his Guru with purest love.
Jessore of Bangladesh is the birthplace of Sree Sree
Haripada Chakroborty. But from his early childhood he
was brought up at his ancestral home at Kalighat,
Kolkata. Soon after 10 years of age he appeared to be
somewhat indifferent from other students. He found to
be meditating in his free times. At the age of 16 he left
his home and went to Parbatipur, finally to West
Dinajpur. There at the instance of a local person he got
a job at the residence of Superintendent of Central
Excise. Within a month the said Superintendent was
transferred to Kishangunj and with him adoloscent
Haripada also went to Kishangunj. But while living there
for seven days all on a sudden in a morning young
Haripada left for northern part of Himalayan and there
he came in contact with a saint from Vadodara. The
restless young Haripada was asked by the said great
saint to have patience and provided him with the
“Mantra of Life”. Upon receiving such “Mantra” the
mental flower of young Haripada started to blossom and
gradually its fragrance started to spread all around.
Every moment started to reveal a noble experience
enlightening him a different realm of spirituality, evolving
him from one place to the other and ultimately he
realized the essence of life. – GURU GITA VERSE 22
Sree Sree Haripada Chakroborty had learnt the
“Tantrakkriya” from the said great saint named –
Dhurjati Narayan Dikshit for a long period of 7 years 8
months and with the help of divine blessing he gained
profused strength to reach the ultimate destination in
the spiritual path. At the directive of his Guru Sree Sree
Dhurjati Narayan, Sree Sree Haripada Chakroborty came
to Kolkata and accepted a job in Income Tax
Department from that time he served million of people
those who came to him for spiritual solace by offering
proper answers to their needs. In the midst of spiritual
Sadhana in 1987 Gurudev Sree Sree Haripada
Chakroborty picked up Sri Netai Chandra Basu amongst
his innumerable disciples as his competent torchbearer
and trained him in performing of Tantrik rituals for
providing spiritual relief to the mankind and in 1987
upon completion of his work in his mundane world he
left for his heavenly abode leaving Sri Netai Chandra
Basu as the sole sebayat of his consecrated Lake
Kalibari, which was established by him on 13th April,
1949 at 107/1, Southern Avenue, Kolkata – 700 029,
West Bengal, India. Our respected Gurudev, Sree Sree
